This looks like a job for....

Superman!

So I got a request for a superhero congratulations card for someone who recently got a new job.

I decided to go with an explosion box cause it was going to be hand delivered, it's more fun than a flat card, and it has more details! And I tend to be about the details.

This design would be perfect for any superhero lover of any age for any event!

Thinking of You

Recently a family member has had a pretty big surgery. I figured a little 'thinking of you' card was in order!

Traditionally I use some sort of medical file when doing cards for such an event. However, this round I decided to go more along the lines of something elegant.

I started with a lever card file I had in my library.

A Retro Affair

When I saw the dress maker file, I though right away a retro skirt on that would be cute. So that's what I set out to do!

Today I bring you this cute dress from one of the newest SVG Attic files, Just Sew.
To start with, I did the stand, the body, and then the dress portion. For the skirt, I simply took the dimensions of the middle portion (waste reinforcement without the tabs on it) and inserted it into a circle.

Peek-a-boo Card Tutorial

I've seen these cards several times as well as tutorials for them. However, all the tutorials I have seen, teach the person how to do it by using a die cut machine such as a Big Shot.

I decided to make up my own version of the Peek-a-boo card, designing it in Silhouette's Designer Edition. I am confident you can do this with a Cricut as well!

It seems like there is a lot of steps, but once you get the general idea down this is by far a super easy, fun, and interactive card. My kinda card!

Marley's pasture

Around these parts of the Inland Northwest, we have farms of every type. When a farmer and his family put so much love, sweat, and tears into their work, it shows. Farming is not just a way of life for them, but for the society!

Recently a very important milk cow passed away, Marley Mae. She was very well loved and an important staple to this family's farm.

I thought I would just extend a small gesture of thought and make them a card.

I started out with a basic z-fold card.

You are my Sunshine

One thing I know, photographing scrapbook layouts is not my specialty! This shall be a new goal of mine.

When I saw the August Stack-a-holic scrapbook sketch challenge for DCWV, I thought right away that the sun needed to be a shaker!

1st page ~ The center of the sun is the shaker portion of this LO. It is a clear cut through the layers, but I wanted the clouds to be seen in the back as well.

Slowly I am catching up on my son's scrapbook pages. Although he will be eight this year and I am rounding about year three of his life and haven't even started my daughter's who will be four in a few weeks!

Busy Bee Bears

This little birthday card was me just messing around at my desk. I didn't really have a plan for it other than following MojoMonday's latest challenge sketch.
I just knew I wanted something bright and cheerful.

With Sympathy

For this card, I used the DCWV August Stack-a-holic sketch challenge. It's no know secret that I am a definite DCWV stack-a-holic!

I took one of the stacks I won from last months challenge and made three cards yesterday. It is unfortunate that this has to be a sympathy card, but the Minty Lace stack made a very subtle elegant touch to the card.
I am trying to reach my goal of making sure the inside of my cards look nice as well. It does take more supplies, but the end results are worth it!

Oh Snap

A couple of weeks ago, I did my first z-card with my own twist to it (There are no goodbyes).

Since then, I noticed Lori Whitlock came out with a whole new line of Pop Up Box Card's (found on her website or in the Silhouette Design Store) that reminded me of the z-card.

I have a slight obsession with cameras so I needed to do her camera card!

Instead of leaving the camera areas blank, I decided to use some Peachy Keen faces.

A Whale of a Gift!

This little ocean set is part of a new upcoming SVG Attic set (for now though it can be found in the Silhouette Design store for those using Silhouette machines).

I fell in LOVE with the whale knowing that the scaly coastal paper I had from DCWV would be perfect.

This little hinged whale box is a great way to hide gifts or treats in his belly!

Hip Hip Hooray

School's almost in session. Now I don't know about you, but man am I excited for school to be back in session! So excited in fact that I took the Color me Cute file and turned it into a school's in session card using the most colorful, brightest, and cheerful paper I had!

This is the level of excitement I feel with school right around the corner. Unfortunately, our school year doesn't start until September 7th though.

Martian Mickey

Anyone who has a child who has a love of Mickey has probably seen Mickey Mouses Space Adventure where Martian Mickey is introduced.

I do a centerpiece for a family members child's birthday each year. Last year was Minnie so she wanted some Martian Mickey pieces to combine with last years piece.

In all there is a 12" Martian Mickey, a #4, a space helmet, and Mickey ears for a photo booth.
The birthday girls space badge, as well as 10 more badges for her guests.
 17" rocket
A lot of work, but a joy and pleasure to be able to do!
