The importance of giving...

I made little gift packs for my son's classmates, teachers, and bus drivers. While my children (7 and 3) were excited to see the little treats, I felt it was important to let them know that it is more about the fact that my son gets to give these presents away rather than keep them.

Using KaDoodle's Winter Reindeer Peeker file and their Sweet Treat Gingers, I was able to make these gifts!
The teachers and bus drivers received a sweet smelling pumpkin hand wash.
Teachers and anyone involved in my child's life actively I feel need to have a thank you reminder because they really do shape our children's lives daily.

I used the Sweet Treat Gingers file to make these chapstick holders for each teacher and bus driver!
I then used both files to make 22 gift bags that had a Christmas pencil, eraser, and goodies in it.
To save on time (I only had a day free to do this all) I was able to use the print and cut feature for the tags and labels. KaDoodle's cute files were just the PERFECT touch to these gifts!

All the new winter files are a must see...http://kadoodlebugdesigns.com/shop/

An Angel gets her wings

I was asked to make an Angel card. I asked the customer if she would like a 3D globe with an angel in the middle. She was really excited and even more excited when I asked her if she wanted a matching card.

I knew right away what files I was going to use! SVGATTIC.com have the best 3D files. Even though I am just a guest designer for them and it is not my month to post for them, I had to use these files!

Waiting for Santa

I think Santa lost one of his reindeer! This little guy is peeking out the window waiting on Santa!

I used KaDoodle Bug's freebie file to create this card. All I knew was that I wanted him to look out a window. Little did I know it was going to turn into such a large project!

Please Santa, bring me a puppy

Puppy's and kitten's seem to be a very popular item to receive for Christmas!

I have even toyed with the idea of a kitten for our children for Christmas, however I am allergic. Sorry kids, you're welcome furniture, carpet, and counter tops!

Here is card #3 of the 4 I was asked to make.

All I knew was that the recipient likes dogs. I had this Santa's bag file that I was waiting for a reason to use! At first I was going to replace the teddy bear with the puppy, but then I thought why not both?! The puppy comes from KaDoodle Bug Designs 'Summer Puppy' file: http://kadoodlebugdesigns.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=8&products_id=391

Tune in tomorrow for card #4 it is a brisk card...

Hot Chocolate and Big Hugs

I usually do not do more than one blog post in a day (most cards take a minimum of a day to a week to make!). However, today is a special day.

This card is for a special little girl, Safyre, who lost her whole family in a fire two years ago. Not only has she been left physically scarred, she will probably be emotionally scarred for life as well. All she asked for Christmas was cards from people, so here is my contribution. I will post the link to her story and information below!

I made this card using one of KaDoodle Bug's newest designs, Warm Cocoa Polar Bears (http://kadoodlebugdesigns.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=18&products_id=991). The card base is from Scrappy Dew's Mojo Monday freebie file. http://www.scrappydew.com/

Silent night...

What is your favorite Christmas Carol? Mine is Silent Night!

For this card, I took what I imagine a nice silent night would be, mixed with one of my favorite Christmas collections, a snow globe. One of the snowglobes in my collection has Santa and his reindeer flying around a tree, kids building a snowman, and toys above a little mini village all while singing here comes Santa Claus.

Okay now you want to see this globe right!

What does Santa do after the gifts are all given?

I imagine that right after Santa delivers all of his packages, we will find his chair empty, presents awaiting to be opened, his boots by the chair, the list forgotten for at least another six months, and his clothes warming by the fire!

I was asked to make four Christmas cards, makers choice. (Which I love because when it is left up to me, my imagination runs wild)

I bring you card #1 a 'What about Santa' card. If only I had a nakey Santa to hide inside the card (since all his clothes are hanging by the fire!).

Santa's Coming!

Today, I bring you a project using multiple SVG Attic files. Hello Beans! I was the guest designer for SVG Attic yesterday on their blog....http://svgattic.blogspot.com/

When I started brainstorming for ideas on what I wanted to do, I knew I wanted to use the Santa chair.

I just like to smile...

...smiling is my favorite! This 'Elf' inspired set comes from Sanqunetti Design's Christmas Elf SVG file (http://www.sanqunettidesign.com/).

I started off with a little bit of research so I had to watch the movie of course!

Harvest Blessings

The colors, the smells, the chill in the air it all means one thing, harvest time!  Here is my creation for SVG Attic as their guest designer. I am honored to be a guest designer for such a great organization. I had a lot of fun making this project presented to you today! http://svgattic.blogspot.com/

Pumpkins, apples, corn, leaves, family gatherings are all the great things to remember what holidays are for! For this project, I used several files to compile one large autumn scene.

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween Beans! Today I bring you a card using five different files from KaDoodle. The entire inspiration for this card is based off of the sentiment that is on the witches bowl. It says "A with and her little monster live here with one handsome devil".

The files I used are :
KaDoodle Bug Designs: http://kadoodlebugdesigns.com/shop/
Cutie KaToodles-Devil Bear
Monster Bash boys
Monster Bash girls
Charmkin Cuties-Cauldron Witch
Spooky Halloween

Autumn Photo Card Frame

Today I made a pocket card that I used to frame two pictures. I found the base of the card or album in Silhouette's design store. I then used DCWV's 'The Autumn Splendor stack' for the decorative paper.

Up-cycle a Window Frame

I have always adored the up-cycled window frames. So when I found a whole bunch of these windows in my dad's storage barn, I couldn't pass up on grabbing one.

These windows came out of a school house from the 1920's. This one was caked with many many years of paint on it so cautiously, I got to work on stripping it down. As odd as it sounds, I wanted to paint it new so I could distress it to look old!

My husband thought I was crazy and couldn't understand my process behind it, but I LOVE the results! Each window measures to fit a perfect 8x10 photo!

Christmas is coming!

Are you ready for Christmas? I surely am not! I started my gift making off with two tumbler cups for my children. Every Christmas Eve, it is a family tradition to give them a Christmas movie, jammies, popcorn, and some other little movie related treats.

This year I plan on giving them each their own monogrammed cup. The perfect svg file for my projects are from Sanqunetti Designs. I am just testing some svgs for them as they are starting off a new svg line! These Christmas monograms come in a set of four. I was able to pick my own font from my design program to personalize each cup for my son and my daughter!

Thank a Nurse!

Hello Beans! It has been a while since I have done a popup box card. I needed to make a thank you card for a nurse and I wanted to make it funny to match her personality. KaDoodle Bugs 'Check up Kids' file is just perfect for this card! And I felt that Virginia Turtles 'Nurse on' stamp set was great for this card.

No lion...

You are the best! I had fun making this card. I knew I wanted the trees to pop, but how. So I made a slider front so the trees and lion pop up when the tab is pulled on!

Hmmm......fishing or angiogram?!

I made this card for a family member who needed to go in for an angiogram to see if there was a blockage in the heart. After all was said and done and this person was cleared of all concerns, a comment was mentioned about the person probably wanted to go fishing instead!

So I combined two KaDoodle Bug Design files (Charmkin Cutie- Gone fishing boy and Check-up Kids).

Home Sweet Home

I have said it before and I will say it again, fall time is my favorite time! I was asked to make a congratulations on a new home card. I started off with the base of the card (found at Silhouettedesignstore.com). I modified the base of the card to what I wanted. I then found this cute little house and tree in silhouettes store as well.

I dug into my files and found a perfect fall time details from my KaDoodle Bug Design files. I used the Autumn Squirrel file for the squirrel and pumpkins.

Have a SUPER birthday!

My son has been invited to a classmate's birthday party this weekend. The theme is Superhero! They have asked that the kids wear their favorite hero for the party.

I knew for this card, I wanted the batman symbol to float somewhere. Then I got to thinking, wouldn't it be cool to pop out at you when you open the card.

After I picked a simple flip base, I got to work on a mechanism that would flip the symbol up as you open the card. While it isn't exactly what I had envisioned, I am totally happy with it! Then it all kinda fell into place from there.

Both birthday sentiments (on the front and inside) come from Virginia Turtle Stamps. The card base and all the superhero decor is from Silhouette Design Store.

******View the video at the bottom to see how the Batman symbol flips up!******

Psalms 23

Today's card is on a more personal note. There comes a time in your adulthood that leaves you wondering why this person or that person. A childhood friend of mine has asked me to make a special card for her aunt. For privacy purposes, I will not go into detail, but I had the pleasure of making this card for her.

Psalms 23 is the verse on the banner in the background.

Pumpkin ghosts

What would a ghost be if it didn't float?! For these two easel cards, I used KaDoodle Bugs Charmkin Cuties 'Got Candy Ghost' set. I designed the easel card base to what I needed and wanted it to be!

The sentiment comes from Virginia Turtle!

Cancer Sucks

Chances are at least one family has had to deal with some form of cancer. I know I have it all the way around in my extended families.

Being the founder and operator of Sugar Bean Cards, one thing I like to do is make personalized cards for recipients who ask for a little cheer for their loved one. Often these are surprise cards for their loved one from me to them and no money is necessary although it has been offered in the past.

My Heart

I was asked to make a tropical themed grooms card. Originally we agreed to do one of my Tahitian huts, but then the bride really liked this tropical island. I found the island from SVG Attic or Snapdragon Snippets if you are using Silhouette Design Store.

Since she originally liked the hut so much, I decided to incorporate the hut as well. I knew that she had gotten a little gift to put in it so I made the huts roof removable. I then incorporated little things that mean something to them.

Spooky Halloween......

This card was easy to make and I absolutely love the results! I started with the base of the card. I found this 'Spooky Gate Card' file on the silhouette design store under Snapdragon Snippets. You can also find it on SVG Attics website.
I then found these charmkin cuties on KBD's website. Frankie and the Bride of Frankie!

I found the 'We Scare' sentiment found on the inside of the card in my collection of VT stamps!

Boo

I am loving this weather! We went from high 90's to 100's to 70's overnight! No more air conditioning, not cold enough for the heater which only means one thing, Fall is coming!

With fall comes H A L L O W E E N! Both design teams I am on have a lot of halloween related things to offer. KaDoodle Bug Designs is constantly putting out cute new and older cutting files. Virginia Turtle has stamps, stamps, and more stamps for the upcoming holiday!

For this first card, I used KBD Frankie and Frankette Racoon. The sentiment stamp is part of VT's multi stamp pack.

Birthday Celebrations

Today I bring you three birthday cards. I have found that the older I get, the excitement of a birthday tends to go away! However, I think a nice birthday card is always exciting to get. More so when they are handmade!

Kayla's Sweet Shoppe file (http://kadoodlebugdesigns.com/shop/index.php?main_page=advanced_search_result&search_in_description=1&keyword=Kayla)
Virginia Turtles 'Have a Royal Birthday' sentiment
Scrappy Mom's 'You're the hot fudge to my sundae' sentiment

Gone Fishing~Boy

In this busy life, it is important to remember to take some time out for yourself and enjoy the things you like to do!

For my brother, that would be fishing, hunting, or hiking with his dog. Wednesday is his birthday. I decided to pick a fishing theme.

KaDoodle Bug Designs 'Gone Fishing Boy' was the perfect file for this step card.
